Church of the Nazarene
We are glad to be part of the international Church of the Nazarene, but we are also happy that people from many different backgrounds find a home church. We have people from lots of different denominations and religious backgrounds (including no religious background). Everyone is welcome here.
If you're new to the Church of the Nazarene, you might like to know more about us. Here are the basics.
We are Christian. We affirm the ancient Christian statements of faith (particularly the Apostle's Creed and the Nicene Creed), and we join with Christians around the world in the life-long process of learning to live like Jesus.
We believe. In the Church of the Nazarene, we hold to five core beliefs.
1. We believe in God - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Trinity)
2. We believe that every human is sinful and needs forgiveness and new life through Christ. (Salvation)
3. We believe that God calls us to commit ourselves fully to him and that he enables us to do this through his Holy Spirit. (Sanctification)
4. We believe that Jesus will come again to judge the living and the dead. (Second Coming and Judgment)
5. We believe the Bible is a trustworthy guide for life and faith. (Authority of Scripture)

We serve. More than 100 years ago, we chose the name "Church of the Nazarene" because of Jesus of Nazareth. In northern Israel, Nazareth was a small village with a bad reputation. From our earliest beginnings, the Church of the Nazarene has been a church for people who don't like church, a church for the poor, a church for the outcasts, a church that serves our world. We continue that tradition today in 21,000 local churches, Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, and through 2 million ordinary people loving the people around us.
